I’ve recently moved to Fushimi, Kyoto, and I’ve discovered a brewery that is a must-see in Fushimi, so here it is! Recently, I’ve been riding around on my bike and visiting various places. So if you like sake, you should definitely go sightseeing!
You have to be 20 years old to drink sake! If you’re underage, you can buy amazake or sakekasu (sake lees), so you’ll have to put up with that!

What is Fushimi anyway?
In short, it is a town full of sake breweries that have been in existence since the Edo period. The cherry blossoms are also beautiful!
You can enjoy freshly squeezed sake on the spot! Fujioka Sake Brewery
The first stop was Fujioka Sake Brewery（藤岡酒造）. This is a sake brewery with a storefront like this.
Inside, they sell a famous alcoholic drink, Souku（蒼空）. It’s expensive! But I’m sure it’s delicious. I haven’t had it yet, actually.

And the BAR is attached next door, where you can enjoy a sit-down dinner.
This is a rare brewery where you can enjoy sake while observing the brewing process through the glass.
I really recommend this place.

Next is Kitagawa Honke（北川本家）, the only sake brewery in Fushimi that offers freshly pressed sake on the spot.
They sell directly next door to the sake brewery! If you want to buy souvenirs, this is the place to go!
The sake, called Tomio, is freshly pressed and packed on the spot.
They sell rice as well as sake.
I forgot to take an exterior shot, so I’ll add it soon. I’m really impressed with how different the fresh squeezed stuff tastes! You should definitely try it. I really, really want you to try it. I really, really want you to try it. It’s a bit far, but if you’re looking for a place to buy souvenirs, this is my recommendation. I’ve left my impressions of the taste in this blog. The appearance is outrageous. Matsumoto Sake Brewery(松本酒造). It’s famous as a tourist attraction, but look at this picture.
This brick building was built in the early 20th century. You should go there even if you don’t like to drink.
I heard that this place is beautiful during the rape blossom season, so I’m looking forward to going there to see it.
I found this place on my way to a shop after I moved here, and I was surprised at how far Fushimi is.

Yes, the breweries below are too famous to be selected, which is unfortunate because it goes against my purpose of introducing minor breweries.

This one is also famous. This one is free admission.
